Ruth Ruhl, the founder and President of RUTH RUHL, P.C., is passionate about the work she does and the level of service her team provides to clients. “I truly love what I do. And all of us understand we’re here for the client.”

Ruth understands the importance of meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality. She knows how to cajole county clerks hundreds of miles away to ensure a document is filed on time. In one case, she managed to get papers recorded on short notice and, with six minutes to spare, saved a client from a costly loan repurchase.

Ruth’s extensive knowledge of the industry comes from a career that began as a mortgage loan officer after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. Equipped with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance, Ruth quickly learned the critical importance of proactively addressing problems that arise in the preparation of loan documents.

After honing her skills in that profession, she earned a law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude. Ruth joined the law firm of Barrett Burke Wilson Castle Daffin & Frappier, LLP, in Addison, Texas, which focused on residential foreclosures. Ruth’s understanding of the business side of mortgage lending prompted the managing partner to put her in charge of building a loss mitigation department. She was promoted to partner, specializing in loan origination, specialty loan and loss mitigation, and regulatory compliance. She joined PeirsonPatterson, LLP five years later, where she worked as a partner and director in the Specialty Loan Section.

Ruth soon realized she was fully equipped to start her own law firm serving mortgage lenders and mortgage servicing companies, and in 1999, RUTH RUHL, P.C. was created.
